About the DM
Hello! I’m ApophisRises!
I have been a player of D&D for around 10 years, and have been taking up the roll of Dungeon Master for around 4 1/2 years. I have DM’d several low to high level campaigns, and the most important thing to me is that my players have fun, that they get to play what they want to play, and to run games with very few restrictions during character creation.
I have two worlds right now that I will be running one-shots and short campaigns in;
Omaterra - A Greek, Norse, and Egyptian themed world full of heroes and gods and explosive fights. I have run several campaigns in this world, from low level to high. You might play as a demigod or a champion of the gods, and fight the dangerous cults that lurk in the shadows of Omaterra. This world is full of craziness and adventure, as well as able to handle a great deal of player shenanigans. If you want to be a powerful hero with a heroic array of stats and get to play any build you can imagine, this is the setting for you.
Abraeas’Dor - A homebrew world that is entirely my own making, which I have been developing for over a decade. This campaign setting is a lot darker than Omaterra, with much more space for serious roleplay and dramatic decisions. This world contains more dark subjects inside of it, and is a multilayered plane of existence. If you’re looking for a more serious or political campaign, this is the setting for you.
How To Get Started
Send me an email at ApophisRises@gmail.com, or contact me through my other social media accounts, which include Instagram and TikTok. All of these accounts are under ApophisRises, and all will have the picture to the left as their profile picture.
Let me know your requested group size and your available days, and we can talk about finding time for your campaign or one-shot. I am available most at the end of the month. I currently have evenings booked on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, but I have the last Friday and Tuesday of the month free to run the game for you. I am in Eastern Standard Timezone(Boston Area), and I can begin the sessions on Tuesdays through Saturdays at 5pm EST or 6pm EST.
I use DnD Beyond for character sheets, where you will place your characters into the One-Shot Campaign. I have content sharing enabled and own the vast majority of content on DnD Beyond.
I use Discord for voice chat, and have a dedicated server for these campaigns. You will receive an invite to the server when we have settled on a date and time.
We will be using Roll20.com for playing the game and using the Beyond20 plug-in to transfer rolls into Roll20.
House Rules & Expectations
Flanking is ALLOWED and grants advantage.
NSFW is Fade-to-Black. All Seduction or NSFW Encounters are fade-to-black. There will be no ERP at my table as I have no desire to participate in that kind of roleplay.
Enchantment magic fails to seduce. Magic used to seduce is an automatic failure, this includes any and all enchantment magic including suggestion. Not at my table. You get one warning, and I will boot you out immediately with no questions if you attempt to do something like this again. No SA at my table.
Druids can Wild Shape an unlimited number of times outside of combat but cannot take advantage of this and transform outside of a combat scenario when you know you’re about to enter combat. This is because Druid’s wildshape is rather limiting outside of combat, and I think that needs to be improved.
Character Creation Rules:
Standard Array is used for stats, UNLESS the entire table wants to roll for stats, then we will use that.
All races officially published by WOTC. All of them. Same with lineages like Dhampir, or races like Hexblood,
All classes are allowed, including Bloodhunter and Artificer, as long as they are published by WOTC or available in official works on DnD Beyond.
All subclasses are allowed including Peace Cleric and Divination Wizard. There are no nerfs for these at all. Use those amazing abilities.
All spells are allowed, including Silvery Barbs. No spells are banned.
My Expectations as the DM
Make the game a priority. If you sign up to play, I begin preparing a lot of factors of your adventure. I expect at least a base level of priority for the game itself. If life gets in the way, please let me know. I understand that life is hectic and that things get hard sometimes, but I expect that the game will be some sort of priority for you if you’re going to sit at the table.
